MasterChef NZ MasterClasses
Series 1 - 2011 - 10 x 1 hour
Series 2 - 2012 - 10 x 1 hour
TV One Saturday 7:30pm
The perfect accompaniment to a weekly serving of MasterChef New Zealand: the MasterChef MasterClasses.
After the excitement of seeing the MasterChef contestants in action in their challenges, the MasterClasses turn the tables and put the MasterChef judges in the spotlight.
Every week two or three of the judges - Josh Emett, Simon Gault and Ray McVinnie – and sometimes a famous guest chef show the contestants and the viewers at home just how it’s done, cooking three or more delicious dishes with step by step instructions and special tips for the viewers.
For the contestants and the viewers it’s a remarkable opportunity to learn from the best in the business. In a relaxed and informal cooking show, leavened with a good dollop of humour, these master chefs reveal the skills and techniques they’ve learnt over the course of their prestigious careers, as they cook fantastic – yet accessible – dishes across a range of culinary styles.
Series 1 MasterClass menus covered everything from the classic Kiwi barbecue to wild game to stress-free dinner party dishes, international cuisines from Indian to Spanish to Italian, and to finish, the most delectable desserts imaginable.
Special guest chefs included Simon Wright from the iconic French Cafe, Judith Tabron from popular Auckland eatery Soul Bar & Bistro and the legendary Teage Izard from Gingerboy in Melbourne.
If you've ever wanted to cook like a master chef, now's your chance.
