Hosted by Shane Cortese, 'So You Think You Can Dance' searches for the best undiscovered dancing talent that New Zealand has to offer. The contestants endure a gruelling 12 week competition to become New Zealand's No. 1 dancer. Some contestants collapse under the pressure, others reveal their two left feet, but only one will dance his or her way to the grand prize – an opportunity to gain a visa and dance professionally in America.
Each week, the contestants perform a particular style of dance with a partner. The audience votes on their favourite couple which leaves 3 couples with the least votes up for elimination. Each dancer then performs a solo of their choice for the judges, with one male and one female contestant up for elimination. Each week, the panel of judges will eliminate one male and one female dancer.
