Heartbreak Island
Mark Dye guides NZ’s singles through the trials and tribulations of life on Heartbreak Island, with one couple walking away $100,000 richer.
Will the journey to get there be filled with romance and love or backstabbing and alliances?
The Concept:
Delivering just as much drama as season one, viewers got a little deeper with the Heartbreakers in season two - with more focus on the dating dramas and risqué relationships of the sexy singles in their quest to find love.
The Format:
In season two the Passion Play introduced the option to ‘play’ or to‘stay or stray’, allowing contestants to ‘play’ in a new partner, bringing in a disruptor of their choice.
Contestants also competed in challenges created to test their strength and communication as a couple. If they failed, they faced up to possible elimination and could only be saved by the playback option. Heartbreak, drama and jeopardy all wrapped up in an Island Paradise.
