Wild Life at the Zoo
With innovative cameras and unprecedented access, ‘Wild Life at the Zoo’ captures the world of a zoo from a whole new angle.
The series was an extraordinary opportunity for the audience to see the operation of a world renowned zoo from the inside out.
Taronga Zoo is one of the world’s greatest zoos - home to more than 3400 animals who reside on 52 acres of prime real estate on the shores of Sydney Harbour. It's been around for a century or so and is one of the most progressive zoos on the planet. This series proved just that, as keepers, vets and staff at Taronga Zoo embarked on some of their most ambitious projects ever.
‘Wild Life at the Zoo’ was an event led series which not only told stories of Taronga's charismatic animals, but explored the intimate bond that exists between the animals and their keepers.
Viewers experienced the care and the impact these animals have on their keepers and vets, whether they’re taking them on an international journey, assisting with a new birth, or taking on a high risk medical procedure. The series provided an intimate portrayal of the human / animal bond. One that provides humour, affection, emotion and occasionally sadness. It was a gripping factual series which revealed the world of a zoo from a whole new perspective.
